Tuesday, August 18, 2009
Just a quick note after a few comments and emails about when we will have the 2010 Gen3 Prius brackets available.
The 2010 GEN3 Prius brackets are currently being engineered. As soon as we can get our hands on a GEN3 Prius we will complete the fabrication. We hope to have this completed by November. Please keep checking back.
If you are looking for a GEN3 or Toyota, go see see Alfonso Rivas at Toyota of Cerritos. 323-383-5071. They have the only stock in CA and tell him Extendmyseat sent you.

Extend My Seat Reviews v3
Tuesday, July 28, 2009
The seat extenders are exactly as advertised.
Following the installation instructions that came with them was easy. Delivery was quick (less than one week) and they fit just fine. Just a little wiggling for alignment and all the bolts were in and tight. Very easy installation with only simple hand tools needed. The new second generation of seat extenders I have installed now on both sides of my 2009 Prius are certainly much stronger than the first generation units I removed. I have absolutely no worries now about the strength of my seat extenders. Of course no structural analysis was included with them and my comfort is purely my opinion only. I love my seat extenders. Now even I with a 36 inch inseam, MUST put the seat upright to reach the steering wheel. If only my 09 Prius had a telescoping steering column.! I'm now waiting for my passengers side seat extenders.

Extend My Seat Reviews v2

This product completely transformed my Prius driving experience - it's now my most comfortable car!! Got the extenders in a couple days (I'm in SoCal), and just put them in this morning. My only comments are that my installation required a 14mm instead of the 13mm in the instructions, and I suggest having a small "greenie" type screwdriver to assist in releasing the three electrical connections on the seat, as well as popping the strain relief that connects the wiring harness to the seat.
I can't say enough good things about these extenders - THICK steel plate, powdercoated paint, not a single burr or rough edge, literally dropped right into place, etc.
I'm 6'2" and with these installed I cannot reach the pedals with the seat all the way back! Amazing improvement in driving comfort.

Some quick feedback on the Seat Extensions from Extendmyseat.com...
I received the package within days of the order... packed nicely... and had updated installation instructions.
Installation was easy, and went flawlessly... remove the four bolts, unplug the three seat electrical connections (*), CAREFULLY remove the seat from the car, place the two new floor mounts in the car, CAREFULLY return the seat into the car, insert the four new bolts, tighten all bolts, and then reconnect the three seat electrical connectors. Place the two plastic interior rail caps back on at the back, and DONE! (He states 30 minutes... I didn't time it, but it did not take long at all!)
(*) I had encountered a cable clamp that holds the three electrical connector cable feed... using a small screwdriver, it can be easily pried open, and then reused. In fact, a small screwdriver came in handy to help disconnect the cables... nothing forced or broken!
I emphasize CAREFULLY when moving the seat in and out... only because this is the only part where you want to protect your plastic and leather... the original seat rails can scratch other parts of the car, if you are not careful.
All in all, an EASY mod to provide an extra 4 inches of seat travel!
OK... I've been driving with the extra positioning for the past week... MAJOR improvement for me... 6ft 1in (normal build)... my knees are no longer very close to the dash... I can even add one of the thicker lumbar cushions, and still have a lot of clearance for my knees... a much more comfortable drive (3 hour total commute each day), still can have people sit in the back...
Product quality? These brackets are thick steel... so I'm not worried about safety...
I'm satisfied... and the pricing is reasonable... when compared to alternatives!
